House Rules

Core Rules Clarifications

Cover

Ignore the target’s base and any minor elements such as hair, gun barrels and spikes.

  • If the target is fully visible, they are not in cover (i.e., they are ‘in the open’).
  • If less than half of the target is obscured by terrain or models, they are in partial cover.
  • If at least half of the target is obscured by terrain or models, they are in full cover.

Injury Dice Rolls

The owner of the model rolls their own injury dice.

OOA Rolls

Only one injury roll taken on OOA.

Scarce

Scarce weapon trait applies to the weapon, not the weapon profile.

Core Rules Updates

Blaze Resolution

Blaze recovery rolls are taken at the end of the round instead of after fight activation.

EXP for Indirect OOA

If a model is seriously injured or taken OOA through indirect action (fall damage, bleed out, burning etc), the fighter/enemy fighter that created the action/damage that triggered the serious injury or OOA gets the full EXP.

Reinforcements and Bottling

Reinforcements on the board count towards crew size for the purpose of bottle tests.

Smoke Interactions

Full smoke rules apply to any model partially in smoke. Avoids ambiguity around cover % of model in cover when dealing with templates. Prevents any interaction from smoke abuse.

Templates into Combat

Templates fired into combat auto-hit all models engaged with models under the template.

Voluntary Bottling

Voluntarily bottling is an auto-loss.

Game Mechanics

Valid Dice Rolls

  • If the dice bounces out of the dice tray or off the table, reroll only the dice that did not end in the tray.
  • Scatter dice may be rolled on the table.
  • Cocked dice (dice not 100% flat to the tray) to be rerolled.

Tactics Cards

Ban List

History of Violence and Dangerous Footing tactics cards are banned from TC deck construction.

Weapons & Wargear

Psychic Familiars

Familiars Omen of Fortune activates once on first successful hit in a round only.

Displacer Field

On a successful hit in an action, trigger displacer (4+) on first hit. If successful, displace model. If failed, resolve all hits in the action as normal. Resets each action.

Ablative Overlay

Limited trait has been added to this item. Once consumed, item is removed. If not used or fully used, remaining armour saves can persist over battles.

Gang Specific

GSC Leader and Champ Special Rules

GSC leaders and Champs can group activate like any other gang.

CGC Masks

CGC masks only apply in a 90 degree frontal arc, and are inactive when prone. Similar to energy shield mechanics.

Gang Variation

GSC corrupted, Chaos corrupted, Malstrain infected & Secundan incursion gangs lose access to their ‘house of’ mechanic and ability to purchase new ‘house of’ fighters, weapons & wargear. Fighters and items purchased before conversion can be retained.

Gang Creation

Painting and Backstory

  • +1 XP per model on recruitment for fully painted model (tabletop ready, min 3 colours and base).
  • +1 Rep on gang creation for an immersive gang backstory.

Duplicates

No duplicate skills or ‘house of’ mechanics on gang creation. Duplications through advancements during campaign is fine.

Campaign

Law and Outlaw

Law abiding and outlaw gang rules apply, with limits to hanger-ons and brutes as well as trader rolls as per the core rulebook.

MVP

At the end of each match, each player nominates 1 opponent model to receive +1 XP. This is awarded for an impactful model, or one that made a particularly narrative, high stakes, or generally cool action.

Don’t Be a DC

This is designed as a fun, fluffy, and open-ended setting allowing players to embrace the weirdness of Necromunda. Ask yourself if your approach or actions feels like an attempt to find a loophole or game the system. If it does, it probably is. Ask yourself whether you would enjoy playing against you. If not, it’s likely that other players wouldn’t either. Don’t be a DC.
